I'll get to see this project as I got to Phil's quite often.

Very interesting and a nice donor car too.

interesting

the crashed B10 seems to be perfectly damaged for this idea. Its too far to repair, yet not too far to get good parts from

finding a good donor is half the job!

Are they going to preventively change any parts?

I assume you'll use the final drive etc off the BT?

The Biturbo actually starts and drives, drivetrain wise its perfect. Everything that can be transferred will. Diff, gearbox, suspension, brakes etc, including hopefully the long range fuel tank. I have briefied Phil that anything that he feels needs changing, bushes etc, should be done.

I'm still gutted that the interior was stolen from this car before I bought it. The donor car has full leather sports seats but if someone does come across a pukka Bi turbo interior, there is cash waiting.

When its finished its going away for a respray, the donor car has done 270,000km and has a few knocks etc I wish to get rid off, plus of coarse the alpina front spoiler will need painting. The irony of this the donor car is that I have always wanted an Avus Blue BMW, picked this car up from Rotterdam (the dutch are awesome!) got it home and it was not till i checked the BMW system that I found it was individual Avus blue!

Its my dream project, and both Phil and I are extremely excited to see the end result. My bank manager however seems to have skipped the country.

In other news, the M5 passed 200,000 miles the other day, she's still going strong!

great project!

There is an alpina interior, but on the wrong continent at www.euromcars.com
(click on 'interior' but it's for a sedan anyway, so probably not worth it)

Probably easier to find over there than here.
