WANTED - door tweeter 1991 E34 M5 (hifi system).

I'm looking for an 8ohm door pilar tweeter speaker, from an E34 M5 (1991)

it looks like this...

original part number is 65 13 1 384 797 and is a Nokia speaker.

(not it's not the same as the 7 series one (as I've got one of those from a scrap yard - different fitting and only 4ohm).

no longer stocked by BMW, only ones I can find on ebay are USA based with ridiculous standard ebay shipping cost, ie $10 for speaker, $55 dollars shipping to UK.

can anybody help?

Hi! I have a friend who scrapped lots of E34 M5 here in Sweden. I could check with him if you like to. He is usually cheap. Shipping is about 5 Euros from here to UK.

Hi Jamie , aren't these units sided ?

It may be difficult to persuade somebody to sell you a single unit , thereby spoiling their opportunity to sell a complete pair .

Saying that , I may have an individual one , and will have to check whether it's a left or right , although there's no reason why you couldn't simply remove the tweeter from the unit .

I also have a pair :

Hi David

yes they are sided, but I doubt they will come out of the grill with damaging it (it's very securely glued in / mounted - I've tried already).

still trying to buy a complete set of E34 hifi speakers (all 10 for $25) from ebay, having problems with international bidding - will keep you informed.
