So sorry that it turned out this way.

The E34 M5 is truly a modern classic that's more than worthy of every ounce of passion put into it.....if you do choose to go the rebuild/new engine route you won't regret it.

That's really the end of that engine IMHO.

No idea what the chances are of finding a suitbale used engine in SA, here in Europe there are a few cars being broken up for spares - could you import one from here (whats the import tax etc?)

Sorry for your loss - can you get any money back from the person who sold it to you?
