Problem with the folding-seat mechanism on the Touring

Just wondered if I could trawl your collective experiences gents...the rear seat latch, that holds the seat in the upright position is failing to stay latched. This is extremely annoying under braking as it comes crashing down. Faz has replaced the mechanism itself for me, but it still won't stay put. Frustrating rather than critical problem. Any ideas fellas?

Finally a specific touring problem I'm sorry I don't have the problem. Willhave a look today at the mechanisme and see what a possible failure could be. Sorry I don't have anything more...

Hi,

My touring did the same thing, initially. I found that the seat ( behind the driver ) needed a good slam to lock it into place....after that no problems..

Cheers Erik, mine is the one behind the drivers seat too. But slamming it doesn't do any good. I have to hold the latch open, whilst pushing the seat back, it then latches temporarily. But a few miles down the road it pops open again. Bloody irritating!! And maybe a little bit dangerous for back seat passengers.

Grrrr...

Sorry Tim but I did not have this problem with my car.

I assume if it is the catch then it may be a strip down of the seat and then replace the catch.

AS for rear sear passengers unless they are really light then I assume that their weight would keep the seat down.
