E34 M5 valve shims

I remember ordering these from an on-line place in the US that has other BMW parts and now can't for the life of me remember where it is or find the receipt for the shims.
They were less than $5ea and I think it is a well known place.
Anyone?

I'm fairy certain that Pelican Parts carries these shims. They also sell the valve depressor tool and the other bits and pieces you'd need to do a valve adjustment.

I have the tool already and it's not Pelican Parts as they don't list any of the bigger shims on their website and the shims are $9.50ea.

It's another BMW parts place

BMA sells Volvo shims (no chamfer)... They work fine though. You can also buy the entire Volvo 100 piece shim kit for only $200... Shim sizes seem to be in line with what my motor is equipped with but YMMV.

I heard about this when I checked my valves. Sure enough, I couldn't tell the difference between the shim I pulled out and the pile of Volvo shims I had, so didnt' have to order any! It's for the volvo red block, 4 cyl OHC, 1975(?)-1995 engines.

Valve Adjustment

Hi, I have bunch of M-Cars with S38 Engines. I start doing it by myself and it is very easy.

If you never done it don't scare . I promise you that after the second cylinder you will realize how easy it is! And after you do all valves make sure you go back to the firts two that you have started from and check for you your work done...

Hear is my link: Hope will help you!EURO Classic Motors | Articles

Anri

I do it myself as well. It's really easy and once you get the hang of it the first time, the next time you do it, it becomes really easy.
