David,

I don't really see the link. Yes I enjoy meeting up with a lot of the members, and yes some have become friends over the years and are an integrated part of life. Phone numbers and email adresses are known etc.

On the other hand I strongly believe it is STUPID to post those personal details on open forum, and will never post a pic containing my housenumber or workshop or licenseplate etc. Even recognisable things like company signs in background etc are edited out. And that is not because I have something to hide or don't trust you. I just don't want to think about the thousands of unregistered viewers every day. Why do they need to know my reg and vin? And where my cars are parked? And where and when at which trackevent they can piss off with it as their mate working for BMW in partsdep. has already ordered a duplicate key for 31euro? Its not about not sharing with you, its about not sharing with those three 19y.o. Essex delinquent 3rd gen immigrants reading along right now who have a nicked 1988 520i and would really like a go in your Mistress of the Week as they think that one WILL outrun the rozzers on their next "job"......

Stevie , for me , it's like this .......

Life is like an open forum .

You can live your life worrying about who wants to know you for what , why that person is looking at you , why your wife didn't make you a tea this morning etc and perhaps , somewhere along the line , you will avert an unfortunate incident .

Or , you can just get on with your life , be open and honest , relax and deal with what comes your way .

There are bad people out there and their ways to acquire what they want are , at times , ingenious .If they really want something that belongs to another , they will have it .

I had my E39 B10 Alpina used to carry my 42" plasma tv amongst other valuables away from my house at 4pm in broad daylight by an 18 and 20 year old opportunist .

I won't now leave my curtains pulled and my car under a cover .

Each to their own , and I respect your opinion , as we are all entitled to live the life we choose as long as we don't hurt others .

I simply don't have the time or inclination to worry too much about the bad people out there ......if I did , I would never leave the house !
