E34 M5 3.8 Owners. Anybody raced Euro E36 M3 ?

Hello guys,
E34 M5 3.8 Owners. Any body raced Euro E36 M3 3.2 321hp on the Autobahn ? From 100km/h up to 250km/h or so.

Thanks
Anri

Hi,

My brother has a e36 3.2 M3 (full supersprint exhaust) and I raced him with my e34 M5 Touring from about standstill to 180km/h. He clearly pulled away from me, especially at lower speed. At higher speeds the gap remained the same. I'll try the 100 - 250 km/h in the future as I'd like to know myself.

Ps: I raced a guy with his girlfriend with a porsche 996 carrera in Germany yesterday from 100 - 250 km/h and to my surprise from 180 I overtook him and held the lead. The guy was visibly not amused!

regards,

Martijn

From a standstill the E36 is quicker off the line. Race it 100-250km/h and there will be little in it.

This is assuming a good 3.2 vs a 3.8 that actually makes 335+hp (only done when correctly setup)

I had a bit of a tussle with an E36 M3 on a rare stretch of autobahn on the way to the Ring.

The guy was not hanging around but I managed to stay with and eventually pass him at just shy of 160mph. By the look of the crap that was coming out of his exhaust on every full bore up-change his car was not it best health. He was also 3 up, I was alone.

Car was in even worse condition 10 minutes after arriving at the Ring because it was stuffed into a barrier. Rumour has it tha the driver even tried fleeing the scene...muppet!!

This must have been about September of 2007, that was the last time I had my 3.8 at the Ring.
