Have always run out of road......
Have had indicated 160mph a lot.

Stability is not a problem up to 140mph.
Push further & you begin to get lift at the front axle but still acceptable.

If you have problems above 120mph then you have steering/suspension issues....

It was a V8. And no, it didn't completely survive the trip

As for the M5, the speed limiter delete is usually accompanied by some performance increase. I don't know what exact chip I had back then , since I changed it to a stock chip about a year ago because I didn't want to take chances. My car has been at AC Schnitzer ( so they confirm) but they can't tell what exactly was done. The old suspension ( now replaced ) was ACS and the rims (17's) I bought the car on were ACS too. Furthermore, my car has the AC pump and airpump deleted, but not back then when I set the speed recording.

Drove to the airport last week (150km's) at 3am, which gave me the chance to play on the empty motorways.

Cruising speed was an indicated 180-200km/h, car was beautifully relaxed and the speed felt natural for the car.

I did a couple of pushes up to 240km/h but found the wind noise from the A-pillars annoying. Apart from that the experience was undramatic. Probably time to chance the door seals...

I'll agree on the door seal thing...the first time I crossed 130mph I thought my drivers door was coming open, which was a bit unnerving. When I stopped I examined the seal and saw that the one on the body was worn through. It's not usually an issue, and doesn't make the car unstable, but it's annoying. Seems like it'll be a pain in the ***** to change though. I love the fact that we're talking sedans that are nearly 20 years old and aren't that attention grabbing in traffic, but will pull to well over 150mph in comfort when delimited.
