Excellent post Faz .

You're spot on about old cars....when I was in university took my dad's Volvo for servicing and in the process the engine knocked after the oil change !

He was convinced I had done something drastic......need I say I couldn't prove otherwise...and the result was a perfect uppercut to the chin .

With old cars one day its perfect and the next its far from it !

The way things are going the M5 is going to be driven in the same excellent manner that Stevie used it.

Changing jobs and where I'm moving to I'm getting an E60 523i ....all of the sudden I've become one lucky ...........( fill in as desired ! ).

Cheers

On a different tack.

Anybody run their touring with Turbine covers? Any pics?

Just reckon it would make it look even more of a sheep.

No, LHD; advertised as built in 1992, imported in '98, Daytona Violet with dark grey Alcantara manual seats, looks like OE Throwing Stars and listed as non-'Nuerburgring' suspension

The advert remarks on it's 4 UK owners so I thought it might be known here...?

Anyone in the Shire of Bedford near enough and noisy enough to go and have a look......http://www.autolusso.co.uk/contact.htm

Sharkfan@
I might have a history for this car but as always, to make sure, which car it really is = I would require the VIN (last seven digits = BL01??? ) -
-
What I always have, for any M5touring, is a copy of the BMW-vehicle-specifications. Again I wud need the VIN.

Yes I know this car a little saw it at the Ring in July 2006.

The guys with the car were friendly enough although there was something odd about the way the car was sitting.

Apparently they did not want to go to the expense of buying new front shocks so they had replaced the front shocks with an equivelant.......well sort of. They had put on 525 front legs and then they were taking or as Stevie put it dragging the car around the Ring.

The car looked pretty sorry for itself but they may well have fixed the "suspention issues" !!

Cheers

Ultra-rare one without any sunroof - must save about 100kg that!

Pity I'm in the process of spending on my 3.6, otherwise I'd have had to get The Faz to have a look at it - although I bet Hairyoli will be along soon to say he's already bought it
