Wel done Chris....seems as if I shall not be going to Kew and won't be joining the 'Touring ' registry yet....will stick to the LE market instead!!

Hi Legacy
I see you're based in central London. After driving the M5 Touring yesterday around Shepherd's Bush, London, you have my greatest respect. It would drive me insane to drive an M5 in such congestion every day. Guess you must know a few shortcuts...

Chris,

Baker Street is good, Regents Park is OK and parts of Maida Vale can be fun, but the rest of central London is a disaster. For me Hertfordshire is a great place to drive! I don't use my car much in central London during daylight hours but late at night sometimes go for a blast.....no speed cameras across most of the city centre, just cc tv which cannot 'gatso' cars. Bicycle or tube are the fastest ways across London today.

Congratulations Chris@
this one seems to be a real nice exampel of an M5touring but the colour is -sterlingssilver - and not -arctissilber-, is it ???
I have to double-check the registry but if it is an italian dealer special then
it shud be -sterlingsilber-met.-

Karl
I distinctly remember looking under the bonnet yesterday & finding the BMW paint sticker on the suspension turret & it said something like "artiksilber"

Chris,
really ? so it may be, I will check the 'build sheet' tonight. But if that is really the case then it is perhaps an italian version car but not one of the italian dealer specials (also being referred to as 'Elektas'). I will check and advise.

Hi Chris,
I now checked on -908- and this is actually the car that once was -for sale-
on the -Will Zaraska- - www.willz.ca- web-site !!
-
"something like "artiksilber" is correct BUT (I actually do have a photograph of the 'individual-sticker of your car) it says as follows for colour:
'STERLINGSILBER-MET. (244) (FUELLER ARKTISSILBER) -
-
that seems to explain the confusion as the colour is definately
-sterlingsilber-met.-

Thanks for the colour clarification Karl. What is meant by "fueller" please (I'm all googled out!!)?

Interesting to hear my car was once for sale on that Willz website in Canada! Never heard of Willz before, however clearly a specialist retailer of high quality BMWs to the discerning enthusiast, like me!
Strong demand in Canada for such cars, with consequently high prices e.g. 1991 M5 saloon 3.5l, 193,000 km for nearly GBP 12,000! Time for me to export my 3 M5s!!

The Fueller discussion seemed to warrant a thread of its own:

Meaning of "Fueller" on Paint sticker?
