Underseal

Hi Guys,

My M5T could do with being undersealed (the old stuff is starting to flake a little) and unfortunately I don't have the facilities to get the car up into the air to do it myself. Does anyone know of a good specialist in the Northamptonshire area who will do an honest job? Also, any ideas on cost?

Lloyd, if you fancy a drive down the M1 for around 40 miles into Hertfordshire why not get the job done by the experts at Rustmaster. Rustmaster- Home

Costwise you are looking at somewhere near £450 inc VAT maximum.

Thanks guys. I've taken the plunge and have booked in with Rustmaster (sorry Davidoli but they're closer to home and at the moment, life is pretty busy) who have quoted £390 to include full cleaning down and preparation underneath, cavity injection of bonnet, front and rear wings, boot lid, doors, sills, sub-frame, cross members and chassis. On the underside they use Waxoyl Hardwax. I'll post some before/after pics on here when I get the chance next week.

Am sure the work will be excellent. Am putting my car in with them at the end of March so will be interested in your thoughts. Have been impressed with what the do on real classics and pound for pound they offer a top service.

Lloyd , no problem at all .....it is a bit of a trek and Rustmaster appear to be a reputable firm .

Please let us know how you get on .

Richard , we get the odd classic up at our place too :

Unfortunately , I can't find the pic of the Ferarri Dino that Roger did last year but it was a stunner !

Davidoli,

Thanks for putting those on there; the Porsche looks great and I will certainly bear you in mind should I require any bodywork repairs.

Any bodyshop / restoration place that has craftsman at work on 'older' cars always gets my attention. What are you doing to the E-Type??

Hi Richard ,

The E Type had a complete respray and a bit of old metal cut out / replaced .

Roger is a master craftsman and has been in this business for decades .
