Don't know the guy, and didn't know if anyone has seen this out there yet (I saw it on Autotrader surprisingly). I just thought maybe somebody may fancy a look!

He's on the E34M5 Yahoo group.

IIRC, his post mentioned that the car has been restored quite extensively. Doesn't drive it enough, hence the sale.

Excellent specimen in a price range that the current economy will not bear.

16-17K buys a lot of car these days ( Audi S8/W210 E55/E39M5,etc ) .

?? federalized (i.e. legal) euro spec 3.8's usually sell for the mid to upper 20k range in the US. 17k seems like a steal to me.

Most people who are looking for a euro 3.8 e34 are not cross-shopping audi's, mercs and e39's. They're looking for a euro spec 3.8 e34.

QFT.

Although, the thought of an S8 does sound very appealing for a more relaxed, comfortable cruiser.

I just sold my monster S4 last week.

If everything works out I'm hoping to replace it with an 02 S8 I found. One owner ,71K on the odo,Navi and all the alcantara you can caress. All for 16K !

Its a very practical car for someone living in the Northeast where we get snow for 4-5 mos.

It'll compliment my M5 nicely.

I know its not a rare car compared to the Euro 3.8,but there's the practical side of me that acknowledges that its a bit more car than a Euro 3.8 dollar for dollar, pound for pound. ( Flame Suit On )

Its faster, very comfortable and fairly reliable for a DD and unstoppable in a blinding snow storm.

If I lived in a warmer climate my first choice would've been an E39 M5 but unfortunately thats not going to happen any time soon.

It'll be nice to have the " Ronin Collection "

....now where did I leave that tank of NOS

No doubt! It's a very different specimen of sporting sedan than the E34 M5, but it's definitely an awesome all-arounder that's just as under-the-radar as the E34 M5.

Can't argue with Quattro when the slick stuff is around.

The only thing that has me, even remotely, worried about the cars is the Aluminum spaceframe and it's quirks when/if the time comes to repair it. It sounds like there's very few body shops that even have the expertise/equipment to work on them.

Though it's a euro, the suspension is no longer. The EDC/SLS has been replaced. So,I don't think you could expect to get a premium,in any economy.
