S38B36 Engine Removal Final Stage
This may make painful viewing for some ......apologies to Chas C for one and to others that can't bear to see a beautiful E34 M5 on her last legs !

After many months of removing parts from Asbo's former 3.6 M5 , today was the day to hoist the engine out of the shell , to be rebuilt and prepped for the day when she is eventually fitted to Sebring Sienna .



As the M5 was on axle stands , the regular engine crane did not elevate high enough to safely remove the S38B36 lump from the shell .

Thankfully , help was at hand .......



Everyone should own a bit of kit like this !

the intake plenum still on !!!

Can you settle a few arguments on the board & weight it please
whilst you have to chance ? LoL.

Hi Alan , you are strictly speaking correct my friend , although the engine was well supported primarily from below and the plenum / throttle bodies etc took no strain !

I'll do my best to get it weighed ......it's bloody heavy !

Ben , you lot were a great bunch of boys and it was a right laugh having you over ......all the best with the track car !



The bill for the hoist is in the post .......

dont suppose there is a Becker BE980 10 cd changer in the boot that I can have is there? :wink:
