AC Schnitzer! opinions please

Was doing the trowelling through the ads and came across this "interesting" 93 e34 m5

Auto Trader UK - BMW M5 3.8 4dr Saloon

Clean but the front spoiler looks like the e46 m3 csl rip off. I might be wrong but,,,

Hi Steve.
They did not fit ACS parts to that vintage of E34 M5 from new.
ACS were autonomous marque to BMW back then.
Never seen an AC bumper bar like that.

Btw, your car will ready for you from tomorrow evening.
Cheers
Farrell

Hi Gents AC Shnitzer did tune the m5 from new but extremely rare they also had fronts spoiler almost similar to the ALPINA e34 model, first was the regular 3.5 which from 218bhp was tuned to 245bhp and 315 NM called the ''S5'' and then the //m5 3.6 that was tuned to 3.7 it was called the {S5 3.7} this had (345nm @ 4300rpm) of torque and was substantially worked on they also built the first 2.5 liter e30 m3 before BMW's own sports evolution which was also called the {S3 sports 2.5} possibly 1988 this i am certain will be hard to come by and definitely quite collectible.

That is not a AC Schnitzer front spoiler. It looks like Reiger one. And the S5 3.7 came from the 535i. CEC in Los Angeles had one that was featured in European Magizine.

Will cross check this as i have the Program brochure for the entire range for 3er,5er,7er,8er and Z1 and unless i am the brochure is wrong they 'did' do the m5 3.6 converted to 3.7ltr, and yes there was the regular 535i as well called the "S5" and the 3.7 was called "S5 3.7". Regards.

Wow thank you guys for serious responses

I personally think this is one of the ugliest front ends on a bmw i have seen

they have taken a stunning car and violated it. It looks like an e46 M3 rip off and does'nt sit right

Gavin the 93 cars did have the narrow grill and your dates are correct so prob had a front ender and put back like so, or some debatable taste as the wide grill is a nice touch but the bumper is def a wrongun

Well each to their own i guess, def not my bag and prob will struggle at that price in the current market to get an enthusiast to buy

Good luck with the sale whoever you are

The S5 3.7 is an engine upgrade made on a 535i, never the M5. This is clearly seen in the German AC Schnitzer sales brochure under "5er E34". Power for the 3.7 is 262hp at 5800 rpm. Part number 1100 34 00.
