Briefly explained this story in another thread of mine posted the other day, but the short of it is that my throttle cable snapped in half during a spirited drive, ended up having to have it towed to the nearest BMW dealer in bumfu** nowhere.
Really wary of having them work on my sweetheart as it is. They told me yesterday they'd be able to have the throttle cable overnighted and put in the car by this evening. I gave them the okay, figured everything would be fine, but...
Recieved a call this morning and was told that there are actually no E34 M5 throttle cables in the united states, and one needs to be shipped from germany. I was told this would take until next tuesday. I asked if there was any other way to fix the problem, perhaps a cable from another car cut down and modified to fit. They said they could try and order one from another car, but that if it didn't fit....i'd be stuck with the part.
So my question is: what should I ask them to do? I need my car LONG before next tuesday, so I told them to put everything on hold and that I'd be talking to the online m5 community about the issue. Is there another way around this problem besides shipping a simple cable over from germany?
Thanks much in advance, need to get an answer to them before the day's out.
