CA carbon plenum airbox

CA Automotive I see from reading this months BMW Car magazine have manufactured a carbon fibre airbox.....and Strong Strut have manufactured a front strut brace.

Any thoughts regarding these aftermarket parts?

Finally they have also purchased the last eight Supersprint cat pipes £299 a set....maybe something to put away for the future??

Lots of good discussion on here about airboxes - the consensus seems to be to keep the absolutely excellent one that BMW fitted to the car

I think he meant carbon intake manifold. Becuz thats what I read in the latest issue in BMW Car. Looks good but ze powerband must have a ravine in its torque curve, Ahh but the induction sound must be beautiful. Noise to others but could be perfect harmonics to me!

That airbox is not as good as the standard plenum.

You'll actually make a huge amount of noise fitting a GruppeM type air filter. The resonance flap combined with this makes the most insane noises!

Ask Farrell how loud it can be and how good it sounds.

Send a message via MSN to BURTON
Is it a GruppeM for a S54 engine?

Intake noise is race like on wide open throttle.
Hardly different to std on steady state throttle.
I like the sound.

The problem = detrimental to the vehicles performance which I don't like.
It fits as direct replacement to std air box.
So easy to swap out if you just want fun

Not in character with the overall vehicle imho.
If you want extra noise in the car, take your kids out for day
trip to the zoo.
It will be cheaper & you will get more benefit.

Your old!!

it actually makes +3-4 bhp on the dyno. You might have my graph the wrong way round.

There is a graph somewhere on here, I'll search for it.

It's only really top end power, no difference at all upto around 5000rpm.

Throttle response is definately improved.

It is very very loud under WOT.

I should turn upto a meet with it on one day.
