Intro: Belgian in Asheville, NC with an e34 m5 ;-)

Hey guys,
I'm a long time BMW fan/boy/lover etc. I've owned a few e30s (in belgium/france and US), some e36s, an e46 and 2 e34s... One of which is an 91 AlpineWeiss M5:

It has 200k Miles, but the records indicate it was well maintained and cared by the previous owners (Texas, Florida)

The Good-
-No Rust... at all
-SLS works!
-Motor pulls well and is very smooth

The Bad-
-Front seats
-Broken front spoiler
-Loose front end
-Bad front shocks
-A/C compressor

I'm busy restoring (polishing the lips) of the M-System1 wheels:
Before:

After (well, I'm lying that's the pass's side wheel... but was in the same condition as the first pic)

Like I said... Needs new headlights/Front spoiler (already ordered missing trim)

A few questions
-What aftermarket FRONT shocks are well suited to match the rear SLS?
I was thinking Koni single adjustables...?

- Is there a solution to my front spoiler than a whole new bumper (anyone making them aftermarket/etc?)

- Rear clunking over light bumps... seems the pitman (bottom) end bushings are all new... do the rear strut towers go bad on these?

- Anyone have any luck finding replacement leather (dove)?

Thanks!!
Julien

congratulations Julien, that was the car forsale over on bimmerforums, right?

There was a thread here recently by someone looking to source dove gray (silbergrau hell) leather, and was not having much luck, not sure how it turned out. Silvergray is available, but is slightly darker, on early 91's.

I had a dinan suspension on a previous car with the SLS still functioning and i liked it quite a bit. It's fairly inexpensive, though a pair of koni's and a set of eibach springs would be cheaper still.

yes the rear strut mounts do fail.

Keep us posted on the progress.

Very nice US spec M5! Thumbs up for the M-system I wheels
You don't see them very often nowadays.

Congrats Julien!

I guess you don't need the Parallels any longer?
