BMW Car magazine shoot @ Bruntingthorpe

I spent today with Luke (Great White) , B9 Boy (Elliot) in his black and Gold E34 B10 Bi-Turbo and a great photographer doing a comparison piece for the August edition....8 pages!

Its not easy getting a clean launch on the 0-60 runs....but Vmax is great fun but from a standing start getting up beyond 150mph is amazing...froma rolling start one can go way beyond 160 mph.

Anyway Iam not going to reveal what we did, but here is a little M Porn!

Come on Richard, don't be so coy. How did the old girl fare?

Look forward to reading the article.

Alex I was kind to my clutch as I am off to Aberdeen next Thursday and want to see the car get me there and back.

0-60 is tough when trying to show some mechanical sympathy and my best time was 6.3 which is not great, but hooking up traction proved difficult, too much tyre spin or not enough and you bounch off the rev limiter. I only had three attempts.

0-100 was 15.4 I think, with two people in the car, a full tank of petrol and stuff in the boot (10kgs).

Vmax was a good 154.4 achieved again and again. With a moving start well over 160 would be possible.

The full figures were taken via a computer and will appear in the magazine next month.

If it was not my car I would have been less kind, trust me.

Hi Richard,

Good to have met you yesterday- it was a blast!!!

I think you may be doing yourself an injustice there. I thought your 0-100 time was 14.5secs but waiting for Luke to send the full time sheets through.

Richard, with a car like yours I don't blame you for being sympathetic !

It even looks better than it did when I saw it at The Goat in '07.......did you do anything to it ?

This has got to rank as one of the finest examples around in my opinion.... your interior still looks great too.....still not allowing people wearing studded jeans into her ay ?......picked that one up from you !!

We'll wait in earnest for the article.

Cheers M8

EriK, the in gear stuff I was happy to exploit, but 0-60's can so easily eat clutches and destroy engines....so I was a tad symphetic. The car is looking good, going beautifully although I am not happy with my front disk / pad combination. Am retrimming the drivers seat in July, Champagne Nappa as delivered....and then need to have some minor cosmetic work undertaken on the bonnet and passenger side lower trim. I will publish all of the photos taken, sideways shots, side by side shots etc when the guys send me the disk.

Thank you for the comments and yes keep jeans away from those leather seats.
