Stebro exhaust review

Finally installed the Stebro exhaust I purchased off of eBay about 2.5 months ago onto my M5T.

Fitment:

It fits very well, aside from the fact that it is a total b***h to take the old exhaust off and keep the back half of the Stebro from getting crooked when tightening the clamps, if doing it by yourself, even on the hoist. No real issues although I did have to bend the rear most inside bracket to center the rear muffler in the opening. Compared to other aftermarket exhausts I have installed on other cars, the fitment is very good.

Sound:

I have to say that I am dissapointed as it is LOUD inside, much more than I would like. Perhaps this is not really an issue with the sedans as the trunk offers a lot of sound insulation, but on the Touring it is a bit too loud for my tastes. I can only hope that it will get quieter as it is run in, but I'm not holding my breath. There is a drone at around 2k-2.8k rpm, but at least on the highway between 100-140km/h it is tolerable, but the radio does need to be turned up louder to hide the exhaust noise.

Performance:

My seat of the pants feeling is that the cars seems to have lost a bit of torque, but I can't confirm it as I didn't do a dyno test before and after. It was also raining on my way back from installing it so I couldn't really open it up from a standstill due to wheel spin.

Pics below show why I relaced the old exhaust. Quite the repair that was done at a BMW dealer in Germany.....

IMO there is no noticeable difference in sound between sd and T

the opposite is more likely

Are there any pics of this Stebro exhaust? And I am a bit concerned that it appears to have lost torque

Drove the car again today, and it's fine. I think that the loss of torque I felt yesterday might have been wheel spin as it was raining pretty hard.

I didn't take pics, but will take some when I do my accumulators.

It's still loud.

UPDATE: Just talked to Stebro and they are sending me a set of inserts for the tips to make it quieter. Blitzkrieg Bob are your tips resonated?
