I am working on a supercharger set up for S38 3.6 motor

We are thinking of a modest 420-480 hp range with at least
high 360+ at the wheels, we have the blower and all pulleys needed, we are now after the holidays going to make the mounting brackets, and mandrel bend tubing. Plus we have
software to enhance the 40lb injectors we will be using and make the air/fuel mixture even along with optimal delivery.......

I am planning on eating all the E39 //M5's for lunch and handing
the E46 //M3's their *** on a platter............lol

Pat

86 //M635
89 535ia twin turbo
90 //M5 (soon to be supercharged)
91 850ia (next on the forced induction list)
92 525tds
92 B10-Biturbo

Is it a bolt on SC kit ?
I think the original compression of 10:1 is
too high for serious power gain.
Euro 3.8L M5 has even higher 10:5 compression ratio.

Pat-
This sounds like a great idea! Let me know how it all works out. I have a 1991 3.6L M5 and would be interested in knowing if the kit is going to work on that engine as well. If so, how much are we talking? If/when you get some pictures together, please post them on the site. I would love to see what you have.

Thanks,
Nene

Pat,

That sounds like a very interesting project. When I need to rebuild the S38, I plan on getting the Korman 3.9L Stroker or even a Dinan S38. I have heard that Dinan has done a few supercharged S38.

Be careful! The S38 is a engine under a high amount of mechanical stress as it is. The compression must be dropped significantly, around 8:1 or less.

Let us know how this works out!

And also pls tell us a bit about your 535ia twin-turbo. Who did the turbo? What's the difference between that and the Alpina B10 Bi-turbo? You are the only person I know who has a Bi-turbo in the USA. Good job

Mr. Philpot.
When this supercharger idea happens I would love to get some info on it.

Race Marque had supposedly developed a supercharger kit for the s38 a few years ago but I don't know exactly what happened with the project. Osh is difficult to get on the phone and he seemed to be the only one with any details.

I don't think Dinan is building the s38 stroker any longer nor are they interested in doing any type of custom engine builds. I asked about the stroker a couple of years ago and they didn't want to touch it.
