i havent much experince with strut braces on this car but for the time being i think ill need one as im removing the rear shelf and stuff but i had one on a mk2 fiesta which ive still got a that made one hell of a difference i have been floating around on net and they do under carrige braces for the e34 as well as strut braces and the engines in these bad boys weigh something like 200kg plus so i should imagine high speed it would make a much sharper turning car im going to give them a try because saving for the cage is going to take a while as suspension and bushes hit my pocket hard but next i want f/r anti roll bars

Hi Alan

Nice work with the starter motor weight reduction. I use an Genesis EP 16 Ah 6 kg dry-cell battery with no problems in my 3.8. There is an 60 A Nissan Sunny alternator. I made own mounting brackets and it was quite easy to mount this alternator. Itīs Hitachi not Bosch. There was one wire that had to be added from ignition switch. This starter change would be interested to do to my car too.

Was there some lead plates in the floor in your car? Looks that You have taken them away, if there was.

Best Regards, Janne.

door locks

i wouldnt say lead weights just sound deadning it took a while to find it all as its in weird places i just removed the wipers and theres some where they sit. so out comes the heat gun again. does any body now of a way to change the looks on my e34 because the original ones are lets say bulky and if i start removing stuff with a grinder i think they will fall apart so im looking for something to replace them light weight and small ive removed the lock off the boot and am now removing the hinges and will post pics of that on there as ive found a good way to keep it down well still maintaining good body lines

More fanstastic work - well done for using your time wisely! How people can slump in front of a TV when they're bored is beyond me

I take it the custom cage is going to come with floor bars for mounting your fixed buckets into?

Can't wait to see the cage in there ....

alan super job stiffness is a must ask davidoli he seems to know alot about these car and stiffness. i still think rollbar adds stiffness , safety, and a good 6 point harness mounting stop. good luck craig

I plan on going down there to see him when my car is back on the road id like to have a look at the m5s ive never been close to one especially an e28. I cut my hand today on the grinder so i got to take it easy for 5 days as they glued it back together. I just managed to finish my boot brackets so the rest of week i think ill be trying to slim down the wiring loom a little more. Has anybody her on here ever fitted a omex management system to there e34? I really want to buy a full stainless system from fritz bitz and stick an omex 710 managment system on mine as i have my car regurly serviced and first time i had it serviced it was over fulling really bad after 3000 rpms and i got told either injectors or afm so i had my injectors cleaned and its still over fuelling so would like to remove afm all together. Fritz bitz reckon easy 230/240bhp with exhaust and management system

Be careful out there Alan ....... we don't allow dismembered folk anywhere near the workshop !

I don't suppose you thought to ask the hospital to let you have some of their glue when they were sticking your hand back together .....you could have used it to stick your boot lid down !
