Headroom With helmet On??

I am looking at an E34 M5 and am wondering about the headroom clearance when wearing a helmet. Reaosn I ask is that I rode in an E34 535i with helmet on and absolutely could not fit in a comfortable driving position with my helmet on. For reference, I am 6'2" and somewhat long in the torso.

I am assuming I will have the same issue with the M5 but thought that perhaps the sports seats might go down lower in it??

The final word obviously is to visit the car again with my helmet but I am having trouble coordinating shcedules with the owner and wanted to hear what you all think.

Thanks for any input you can offe on this, -Paul

I have a e36 M3, (not the same I know) It has the sport seat in this, and it has several ways to lower the seat, I'm sure the M5 would have the same, if not very similar, configuration. It can be lowered as low, or raised as high as you wish, I'm sure you would have adequate headroom. Like you say, best to check though.

Paul,

I am 5'10" and I have about 1" room above my helmet when the seat is in the lowest position.

Unfortunately the electric seats don't go as low as manual ones as the motors obstruct the floor a little.

You could always get a M3 seat (which is thinner) or a Recaro sports (not race) seat for £250+!
