That is true, the actual displacement is 6208cc. But the S38B36 is not a 3,6ltr as well so I don't really mind.

It would be interesting to discover whether Motorsport ever considered fitting the variable valve timing to the S38, the S38 was at the end of its production period at the same time as the E36 M3 was released give or take a year or so.

If I remember correctly the E36 M3 was launched in 1992 so the development programme was going on well before...

I read at the time Motorsport were originally going to fit a S6 to the E39 M5, until Jag released the V8 XJR. Presumably the S38 could have been adequately updated with variable valve timing to c. 370-380BHP and a flatter torque curve. The S52 B32 peaked at 3250.

Great news!!!! Hopefully better weather will come sooner, rather than later. Then you can enjoy the 400bhp in all it's glory, that is, unless you sell it first.

IMO, this car, GD64559, is in a lousy condition. Both front seats are badly worn, the colour of the champagne leather has started to come off and the leather has lots of cracks. Backseat doesn't look too good either, but could probably be saved without changing the leather. That car also lost its special exhaust system. I think there is a Supersprint on it now. Someone also removed the 345mm front brakes, to fit 16" on the car
For the ones that are members on e34m5.se, photos can be seen here: http://www.e34m5.se/forum/topic.asp?...1&TOPIC_ID=469
Just saw the pictures of that one, absolutely horrible condition of the leather, and how anyone could have decided to put 16" on that is just
