Chris
perhaps the OEM bumpers were stolen at some point?
They can be taken off in less than 10 minutes a side if someone knows what they are doing..
I don't think many 2nd hand ones will be around in the US..And at $1500, they will probably have to ship it from Europe.
Not such a bad price IMO if you take the EUR/USD conversion into equation..That would be some 1070 euros!

Yeah I guess they could've been stolen at some point. I have to go to the dealer and order the bumpers soon so I can get that done. I just ordered a set of M-Sport mirrors I decided to do that first.

Hello all--
New here, my name is Rob. I'm 28 and live in Baltimore MD. I manage a large auto service shop for a corporation that's not Euro friendly, other than my shop. We get all the euro referrals from local facilities. My wife's name is Brynne, she's an attorney for the Federal Board of Veterans Appeals and grants benefits for GI's who were previously rejected for compensation re. service connected disabilities. Just bought my first BMW, an E34 M5, and couldn't be more thrilled. Other cars include a Mk4 VW Jetta 8v that's built and madly turbocharged, an Audi 200 20vq w/ RS2 conversion, and a Lotus Elan +2s130. This small but attention-craving stable occupies most of my non-work, non-family time, but when I get a free minute I play the bass guitar w/ some friends, collect 1:18 diecast cars, and drive long US highways end to end. Thus far I've covered Rt. 1, Rt. 66, Rt. 70, and Rt 95. Next on the list is the PanAmerican Hwy, and I think the M5 will be the weapon of choice.

Welcome. Sounds a nice stable. Bet that Lotus takes some love and attention! I did route 66 a very long time ago in a 1956 Pontiac. My favourite place was Flagstaff but I'll bet its changed from a crossroads town now.

Baltimore? I was there this weekend, just got home today! What a shame, if I had known a fellow enthusiest was around I would have liked to have seen your pride and joy. Oh well, my loss. But if you're ever in Germany feel free to stop by and say hi.

Yeah, the Lotus takes love and attention. It's currently body less as I'm restoring the original chassis to make into a glass-top table and also building a Spyder Ford Zetec to mount the body on. Then it should need less attention to be reliable.
Very cool that you were in baltimore, but I was actually not here. I flew to Kansas and picked up the M5 Needless to say, I had a great trip home. Smooth as silk and quick as hell.
Yeah, flagstaff isn't a metropolis, but definately not a cross-roads any more.
Thanks for the warm welcome, and I really look forward to the steep learning curve I have ahead of me.

My Name is Rick, Im friggin awesome.
I live in the great state of New Hampshire. I like beer, woman, fast things with wheels, skateboarding, and actin a fool.
I only drive BMWs after years of building american and japanese drag cars. Im a web/graphic designer for a medical company in Portsmouth NH which happens to be the same town Bav Auto is located. Ive owned many BMWs I currently have a 525i POS for daily transport, a 95 M3, and now my 91 M5. Now that I have a BMW stable I find myself much too important to talk to commoners and spend my time driving by soup kitchens doing burn outs and throwing oe dollar bills which to you euro guys is worth about 10 cents now if Im correct.

Maybe next year in the Fiesta. I'm originally from Ireland so thats where I compete in the championship with both cars. Though want to bring the Fiesta over here. I hear those hills are good fun, though won't be used to all the open space, Irish hillclimbs are on country roads with lots of walls and trees!
