Do you have the big brake 3.8, or the small brake 3.8?

The pads from BMW are not that expensive and work well if you're not caning it.

Aftermarket fast road/sport pads will work better when warm, but may not work best on first application - and tend to be more expensive.

Is there any advice on good road (not track) pads that have the least break-up onto your wheels? I'm fed up with the black kack all over me rims

Hi
Pagid do a a fast road pad for both axles on the single pot calipers
It works well.

GSF used to sell them.
The O/E Textar pad is very soft.

If you fit the Pagid pad to existing discs, please ensure that you deglaze &
remove all traces of pad deposits from disc face.
That means some work with a file & sanding etc.

I'm after a set of fronts for my 3.6

Are the Pagids up to the job for hard use Farrell, or should I be looking for something a little more extreme?

Simon

Aren't there more expensive Pagids' than the Fast Road ones for these cars?

Mine had the fast road Pagids fitted by the previous owner - I liked them on the road (early 3.8, so same brakes as 3.6) and never had any problems after some pretty hard driving, but they weren't the best at the end of some sessions on Elvington - next time I'm going for the full Pagid ones, but as with all things I'm sure I'll have to compromise on the road.

For a road car I'd say they were fine.

Well that's me just ordered a set of Mintex Extreme front pads from GSF. £52 all in.

Can't be bad

Yes, the DS2500s are a good pad, but they squeal a bit on light pedal application.

PS Whatever you do, don't go for Mintex Extreme pads (only kidding)
