If the substance is OK, why not? If hypothetically speaking I am looking for a nice green example and I cannot find any, why wouldn't I concider it ? Asking price, negotiations and reality are three different matters.

He only needs one customer and as said, it is buyer beware.

Gents

Although I understand the concept of selling cars, I don't think we should reside into the "you can ask what you want since its your car" - thing here on the matter of value determination.

We all know the value of these cars is highly dependant on mechanical and optical state, more than other cars as the maintenance cost is rather high.

However, several genuine low mileage 6-speed Tourings (as for some idiotic reason the Touring is always valued higher than the sedan, aside) have been sold for less than 10.000 euro's recently so this car costs 3.900 euro's more and has neither the 6-speed nor the big brakes.

I mean, if we think this is acceptable, what would Simonal be able to ask for his Touring? 20k? 30k ?

Wout@
the way it is advertised is - not fair - I agree !
the way many other cars are advertised is terrible, I agree ! I shud never have mentioned the BMW guy being a previous owner, my fault,
NOT the sellers fault, do you agree ?
-
Raymond's latest comment has my support.
-
Is this perhaps all about the aftermath of a bad hangover ???

No, Karl, not a bad hangover.

But if you'd give me a dollar for everytime people act like you're trying to pull their leg when you're in an honest sale, I'd be rich by now.

So, I won't have it when people actually TRY to scam and then get credit on this very board for having a nice car. Its not the car's fault or the BMW employee ex owner ofcourse.

Imagine you'd be stupid enough to drive down there from Sweden without calling him of not asking enough info about the mileage . I doubt you would be pleased.

Wout@
this has already gone far beyond reason, so let's stop this as we have a general and mutual understanding of the issue anyway............
""(as for some idiotic reason the Touring is always valued higher than the sedan, aside)"" what is this good for ?? an equal touring is always rated higher as the saloon, that also is the case for the brand new car, so that is nothing special just for the M5touring that is the way for any BMW touring compared to the saloon of same series -
""I mean, if we think this is acceptable, what would Simonal be able to ask for his Touring? 20k?"" = probably yes ! he can ask for it, why not ??
My own M5touring will not go under 18k in the shape it is now. If I do not get
that money = I will keep it !!
Which is easy to say for me as it is NOT -for sale-
(not even for 20k

Not everyone wants a Touring because of the twin sunroofs that are usually there.

With all due respect to M5T owners, it would be a major aspect for me in choosing the sedan.

The current trend in Holland seems to be importing Tourings aswell. Very nice. Its just that I don't see one 6-speed sedan for every 6 '95 Tourings.

Nope, but that is because the tourings keep their class and presence whereas the limo's suffer from the 'Johnny and Anita' image unless well maintained and in excellent condition.

That off course is a personal preference and I for one would like one with the double sunroof, even though I am tall and could do without.
