Side Skirts, lip spoiler, etc

As i understand it..

>'92 VIN = Sterlingsilber,met. - colour code 244 M
'92 VIN >= Granitsilber, met. - colour code 237 M

But mine is a 92 3.8, so which does that make it?

Also, i understand one colour was a silvery, and one a graphite, which is which?

They are going into the paint shop on monday.

Many thanks.

Charlie

Just colour-code it to the body - you don't have to worry then!

Granite silber is usual for the lower colour on darker colours.

As usual, paint shops quote " theres loads of different shades of colour"
Hmmm...ok, that may be so for some manufacturers.

BMW used to use Standox to paint their cars irrc.
My car has only had Standox Anus Blue 2K applied to it.
No tinting of the paint has been reqd.
Only the washcoat gets tinted to blend in.

Farrell

(Btw, why is my car 8 different colours)

Charlie@
what main-colour does your have ? or what is the VIN ?
> 92 VIN = Sebringgrau
< 92 VIN = Granitsilber-met. 237 M
-
'Individual'-colour cars can have -any- contrast-colour.'
'sterlingsilber-met' was used -regularly- only on the 'E34 M5-Sport-Paket/Winkelhock'-car and some of the 'NAGHI M5 1992'-cars.
-
My guess for your 3.8 is -Granitsilber-met.- but with the VIN this could be
checked with the BMW archives to see how the car left the 'holy halls' of the M-GmbH in Garching.
-
cheers
Karl

Prod.date: June 30th, 1992.
It is still difficult to give a definite answer but as it is a 3.8 type code HC92-standard car my money is on -granitsilber-met. (colour code 237M).
Without engagement but I am pretty sure. Sorry mate, that is the best I can do. Good luck !

Via BMW Individual: bil utan kontrastlack (nedlackad i huvudkulören) eller med en kontrastlack i en annan kulör, mot pristillägg.

which means Karl is right the correct contrast for a Daytonaviolett is 237 Granitsilber, if yours ain't Individual order with some other color or complete in Daytona, that will stand on the Equipment list, PM, HD91 he has your Equipment list as well as every other E34 M5 Limousine list, if anyone has an Equipment/color question ask him, he is the expert as long with his brother, they run e34m5.se, I would suggest that everyone learns Swedish because it's the best M5 E34 site in the world!
