Thanks m8...but no thanks.

I am just glad we eliminated the faulty heater parts & blocked hoses.
Air locks in heater matrix is a new one on me.

Little wonder they changed the design & altered the rating of the pressure cap

As for this old girl on Ebay, who knows what the extent of the damage / cost are.

Well if it's for sale for a grand cheaper than mine was, then there must be a grand more work to do on it

PS - I've started saving for my next visit (one visit every 6 months should do it).

You've got the makings of a good car with just a little time & care.
Interior & engine are 100%
Bodywork is sound.
Once the suspension is fitted & set up.

The Ebay listing...Phew !
You would could spend £3k plus fixing or putting another engine in...
with more to come I suspect.

I think all we'll do with the rear suspension for now is get a thicker spring mount in or fabricate a spacer to go on top to add maybe another 10mm. Either way it means taking the suspension off.

I'm also losing PAS fluid, so it looks like I'll have to join the feed & return hoses closer to the pump.

Both will be done at home at the same time - don't know when, as I might be in Abu Dhabi for a while.

I've got the undertrays & flaps on order, along with some headlight/foglight washer jets & hoses - it'll come together bit by bit.

Don't know if the owner is being sarcastic or he truly feels his usp will work :

genuinely nice car other than the above / below.

1. Oil is water ( engine...top end ? )

Its a terrible shame to see a car like this effectively at the end of its life.
It would be a brave/stupid/naive person to take it on as it is. As Faz has said it would cost at least £3000 to sort out the engine problems before you even started on the rest of the car.
Its particularly sad for me to see a car so similar to mine in this state.

Would this car be worth anything as a group purchase for using as a ring toy??? Those interested chip in say 500GBP each, we get it repaired / modified and then hire it out for visits to Germany. profits are split equally amongst those interested. Anybody bends it they MUST mend it!!!

Then again, my car doesn't start on it's own either, i have to turn the key.
