M5 touring, 340bhp, 0-60 5.9sec, 170mph. Aircon, twin sunroofs, nurburgring suspension, 17" alloys, electric heated sports seats, rear seat ski bags, recent engine rebuild by Munich Legends, regularly maintained by Munich Legends. Only 808 M5 touring cars were made. Metallic black/black leather. Made in 1993, the E34 M5 Touring cars were built with the higher specification engine - 3795cc, 24v, 340bhp - a later option in the saloon. The original price of the Touring was almost £70,000 and was built to commission with every conceivable extra fitted as standard. This car spent its first five years in Germany, looked after by Dieter Steinlein of Munich - a BMW specialist of high repute who prepares and runs BMW race cars. It was imported by Rossiters of Kings Lynn - AC Schnitzer specialists, and bought by me in 1998. It has been looked after by Munich Legends in East Sussex, who did a major engine rebuild in 2003 (24,000 miles ago). No expense has been spared to maintain this vehicle. Also for sale is a BMW Touring bicycle carrier with four cycle supports. Cost over £500 - will accept £300.

Obviously wrong.

The trader / car dealer selling is not an expert or enthusiast of the marque,
hence the technical errors.

The other concerns are highlighted

Farrell

Edit
Have contacted seller who will supply correct Vin BlO la la la.

Isn't that the one Davidoli spotted in his painter's back garden? The Rossiters bit sounds familiar....

Car ID 15047 = is obviously a 'Classic Cars' car-ID. -
-
It is definately -not- BL01504- as that car is -sterlingsilver-met.-
So, the chase for the VIN of that car is still on
-
off subject:
I noticed that the asking price for a E9 3.0 CSL (RHD 2 285 xxx), UK, City Package is GBP 27.000 for a good condition car whereas the price for an E34 M5/M5touring is far less. Strange.
Total production E9 3.0 CSL = 500 (they are really normal CSi-cars in a CSL-body-shell and as such not really a collectors car) -
Total production E34 M5touring = 891 (admittedly -not- a two-doors-coupe but genuine for other reasons)
-
Strange world. Should I perhaps put my E9 3.0 CS on the market in exchange for two
more M5tourings girl friend reaction

Quick maths....it needed an engine rebuild at 91000 miles

Hard life anyone ?
Or dodgy mileage.....

Hi Alan
If I have noted any pattern with these cars, its a general neglect of
cooling system & general mechanical set up of engine.

The coolant is NOT getting changed.
The system is becoming clogged with scale & mineral deposits.
The Aux pump & heater valves love collecting crap as do the breather rtn
from above top hose to degas tank.

The two combined can easily see an old but low mileage engine into trouble.
The abuse factor is there but in isolation, a good S38 can take huge usage
& survive if its just serviced properly.

Hi Karl and all interested in our larger Touring brethren .....

The car spotted at my bodyshop is a L registration ( Production Nov 93 ) chassis number BL01695 .......last seen having a complete bonnet respray for purely cosmetic reasons ......

p.s. Stevie , it's a bloody big garden on a chicken farm .......you should smell it up there !
