Well, firstly i'd like to say it depends on which tyres you have...but that really is another can of worms.
Eg, on michellins i could apply more revs than on the bridgestones i currently run.
As a rule, i would drop the clutch at around 2500-2700rpm, get a minimal chirp from the tires & you're off.
Anything over 3400rpm and you're in danger of spinning up too much and loosing the race.
I've run my car at santa pod raceway, and the best times i achieved were using about 2700rpm, and dropping the clutch quickly.
Best time was 14.1 @ 101mph which is spot on what the car will do.
This year i returned on Bridgestones & couldn't get good traction off the line at all....with times 2-3 tenths slower...
Finally i'd just like to say that i NEVER find the need to drop the clutch when i'm out on the road....a good reaction time from the lights is far far better for speed, and far less strain on the car
