Bought a M5 Touring.......

Hi,

I'm a new member to this forum, so I will first introduce myself.
My name is Erik, and living in the north of Holland.
I'm a true BMW enthousiast, and after having owned several BMW's (E28/E30/E34/E36) I thought it was time to look for my real dream-car.
Since yesterday, I am the proud owner of a '93 M5 Touring
She's diamantschwarz, and the serial no. is BL01533.
I'm not sure if this car is known here on the board, but it's originally a German car. I will soon start the procedure of getting it registered in Holland.
She looks very good, and seems to be in very reasonable and original condition. However, some work has to be done soon.
There is some rust around the fuel door (I believe this is a common E34 problem?), and there's a vibration in the steering wheel around 90~100 km/h.
The car has done about 190.000 km, and it came with 2 sets of original M-wheels, new brake discs and pads (F+R), new clutch, etc.
It is the first time owning a M5, and I have to get used to the car in the coming period. I've driven the car for 2 day's now, but performance and sound of the engine is absolutely breath-taking!
What a beautiful car..............

Regards,
Erik

That's 2 new Dutch rookies in almost one month!

Hi Erik,

Join the club as I did a month ago.....that is to say...I've newer owned a bimmer before. The BL01842 '95 Touring is my firstone As you've owened several I guess that makes me just a little bit more rookie then you I guess.
Anyway...nice to see that there's another Dutchy doing it in E34-M5T.

Willem

Thanks all for the warm welcome!

Indeed it was the one for sale near Venlo. I knew I had to act quickly to buy it.........
I was after the car that Willem bought recently, but I didn't have the time then to arrange a meeting with the seller.
Would be a good idea to have a Dutch M5 meeting, and to meet all these nice M5 guys.

Some more pictures below.....

Hello Erik,

That is a nice M5T that you have bought. Congratulations and welcome.

Regarding a Dutch meeting: I am tring to create a registry for Dutch E34S M5's and E34S M5T's to get an overview of how many are still around and to use as a list to adress owners directly and inform them about upcommin events. Please read this thread for more details.

The registry is a work in progress and will not be published in order to respect the privacy of persons. One of the first activities is a Dutch E34 M5 get together in the upcomming spring (late March or early April).

Erik@
congratulations to M5touring ownership - I will see what I have on this one if it is in the registry already -
-
raymondw@
number of E34 M5tourings in the Netherland is steadily increasing and should be
around 10 by now -
(b.t.w. there are also quite a few E61 M5tourings -sold new- in the NL)
I can send you a list over the E34 M5tourings that I know of in the NL with owner details if that can be of any help - I might even come to a meeting myself, if that is -ok-
