rough running at low throttle

Hello,i live in France and own a 12/92 M5 touring since 9 years. At low rpm and low throttle, when i just want to keep the same speed without to push the pedal to the metal i feel hesitations and rough running.I changed spark plugs,6 coils, camshaft sensor, air sensor and nothing better...If you find what happen to my baby it would be great to let me know.Take care.Best regards,Stephane.

Have you checked for leaks in the intake rubber boot between the AFM and the intake manifold?

Don't know if its applicable...but....my 535i was exhibiting the same symptoms and it turned out to be the crankshaft position/speed sensor.

Hope this helps.

Check the earth strap to the body from the engine and alos check the loom which comes from the ECU to the coil packs where it goes under the coil pack cover as these gave me a similar problem with hesitance. upon full throttle there was little or no hesitating

Hi, i had a problem with mine years ago where it would not maintain a low speed smoothly. It turned out to be the idle control valve, you can start off by metering it at the intermediate plug on the top of the engine. I think its supposed to be; 40 ohms between pins 1 and 3, 20 ohms between 1 and 2 or 2 and 3. Mine was only half this and the problem was driving me mad!

MIKE.
