Clunk from front-end

Took the beast out last night, haven't driven in a while, been too busy detailing and staring

Noticed a pretty loud clunk coming from front-end, it occurs less when hitting slight bumps in the road and more when driving very slow in dirt/stone driveways

Any ideas on what we could have here?

Also noted some oil is going somewhere, I am currently attributing this to the lack of E36 timing chain, any input here is much appreciated as well

Hoping to get her back to tip-top how she should be!

Cheers,
- Jeremy

I had a very similar thing with my Touring and it turned out to be the swaybar endlink.

indeed the droplink from the front anti-roll bar is often shot. Cheap part, can be stuck as fcuk though.

When replacing , make sure you don't round off the top bolt . It sits inside a small cavity on the suspension strut, only a spanner can reach. The lower part is bolted onto the ARB, which an airtool detaches in milliseconds.
