Just wondering if any of you still pay the £500+ main dealer servicing cost for your E34 M5s?
Mine desperately needs servicing, but with the lowish values of these cars now, and the fact mine doesn't have a BMW history anyway, I can't really believe its worth my while paying the £630 my local dealer wants for an Inspection 2.

I have a good independent guy who will do a top job (he owned my car before me for 6 years), but he is sooooo slow.

MMMM Five - is it you who's in Liverpool? Where do you have your car serviced?

It's getting to the point now, that unless the car you have has a full dealer history, and is mint, then there is no reason not to go to somebody who's independent (and obviously know's the M product) speaking to some guys at Donington, they never touch a dealer, and pay half the price they would.
As long as the place you use has a good reputation, then all should be well.

700 cars in the UK, not one seen at a dealership since 1996.

Nope, no servicing, just run it until it sounds "extra rough", then park it in an inner-city multi-storey car park over the weekend, phone the insurers Monday and ask for a cheque.
