Is the fuel system self-bleeding? - The Unofficial BMW M5 Messageboard (m5board.com)

After my recent fuel leak problem we had disconnected the hose to reclamp it.

Is the system self-bleeding or do we need to bleed it?

Reason I ask is that spark plugs are white ... i.e. lean .... need to know what is causing that, bizarre as stench from exhaust indicates massively rich!

Where the plugs in there for a while before the problem with the fuel originated?

They were indeed - I am not sure how long though ... maybe about 10K miles.

Off to GSF for new plugs shortly - it was the correct plugs that were in there, I've checked that much!

Right, plugs changed, car is running fine - foot to floor from 30 in 5th to err considerable and it's smooth as it should be ....

We'll whip the plugs out later in the weekend and see what state they're in and update then.

I changed my plugs today and just like the 3.8 I recently replaced them on, it appeared that the electrode gap was quite large compared to the new ones. From the 3.8, I didn't exaclty know when they were replaced before, but mine sure weren't in there for more than 10k km's
