mystery light

So I've got a mystery light on my instrument panel that comes on when it feels like it...
I have a digital picture of it if somebody's willing to host it for me. I really want to know what this thing is!
Email or PM me if you'd be able to host it for me.
Thanks,
-Eliot

I PM'd you as well on the 8th, so I think the ball is in your court.... Maybe we are having issues, but I got your PM so I'm not sure what is going on.

Thanks Carl!

So here's the story...
It comes on for a couple seconds when the car starts, but that's no big deal.
It used to only come on when I did something sudden, like hammer it, get on the brakes hard, or take a sharp turn (once in a blue moon, right?). Now it comes on for no apparent reason, when I'm just cruising along. Sometimes it comes on within 30 seconds of driving, sometimes it won't come on for an hour.
It doesn't go off until I turn the car off.
Any ideas?
Thanks a lot...

That's the warning lamp for the trailer lights. Does your car have a trailer hitch, or did it ever?

Normally, there wouldn't even be a bulb in the instrument cluster for this warning symbol unless a factory hitch had been installed. Easiest fix is to simply remove the cluster and remove the offending bulb.

SteveC-
Trailer lights? Wow; didn't expect that one!
My car doesn't have a hitch, and I have no idea if it ever did. From looking around under the car, there's nothing that looks like it ever had one, but if the light's installed...who knows? I've seen a few other BMW instrument clusters and none of them had that bulb installed.
Do you know what causes the light to come on?
Thanks a lot; I've been wondering about that stupid light for about 6 months now.

In fact it's a turbo 6 cylinder. But BMW branded in 745i because of the turbo.
