Basics:
1988 BMW M635Csi (e24)
Color: Royal Blue (there's some purple in it)
Interior: Lotus White Leather
Engine: 3453 cc, dohc, 6 cyl, 256 hp (US)

It photgraphs well, but needs a little bit of TLC.
It has 128,000 miles on it.
Everything is stock, except for the wheels.
Needs:
a little suspension work
a little engine work
a little body work
and reupolstered front seats

It's my new project car.
And then it'll be an occasional track car.

The M6 has almost graduated to "Mobile Traditions" status (maybe it already has?) - are you sure you should track such a fine example?

How much work does the engine require? A friend of mine has a Metric Mechanics rebuild and it is absolutely stunning!

The M6 is an absolutely georgous car. Congratulations.

On Thursday, I saw TWO 850s on Pruneridge Avenue (maroon red and white) in a span of 15 minutes.

That car is also a major looker. I went on line and checked the availability of the 8 series on Autotrader.com, they are very rare also.

In any case, loooooove your M6. Great taste.

Yes, I guess the '88 M6 is in Mobile Tradition.

At least that's the button I have to click on in the Parts CD!

I'm not sure how much work the engine will require, but I've been doing lots of online research. There's a ton of advice out there.

I'm bringing it in to Dinan on Monday. (no, not for performance upgrades... just for them to get the engine running smoothly and the suspension bushings replaced. Yes, Dinan's shops do general BMW repair and inspections)

It is a good car. But I don't think it's really one of the better maintained, or lowest mileage examples. So I'll track the car... provided I can find a way to attach the new trailer to bring along tools and tires!
