Just to say "Hi"

Well,
I last looked at this site about a year ago, just after Terrence Fung invited me to join in the Boston M5 gathering. I brought along with me my then "new" (to me) Jet Black US spec 1995 850CSi. The M5 group was very hospitable and I had a great time with them as well as meeting Charles Samuelson, another 850CSi owner.

I was again invited to the M5 meet, though I no longer have my US 850CSi. I am bringing my even "newer" (to me) 1993 Diamondswarts Euro Spec 850CSi. With 17,000 miles on it, it drives as if just out of the factory. I hope to have my K-Mac adjustable camber plates installed prior to going to NHIS for BMW Advanced Driving School to give the AHK (type of rear wheel steering) a workout.

I hadn't seen this particular message board last time I looked, but see some familiar faces here (Carl and Mike).
Thanks for another great forum,
Paul

they both sound particularly nice 8's you have there.
How did you get on with the driving courses, or are you yet to attend? 17k on the clock, wow, what do owners do with cars, obviously just drive them on high days and holidays, shame really, but a good thing for you.

Hi Paul

Good to see that people are finding this board. We like keeping a low profile. Feel free to tell other CSi owners that the board exists... .

So you are enjoying your new Euro Spec CSi I'm sure. Please keep us informed on how you like/compare the AHK and floating brake equipped Euro versus the NA spec CSi once you've put it through a trackday (Hope you have a extra set of tires...). Was you NA spec one stock, or??? Would be nice to have a back to back comparision of stock cars.

Regards
Carl

Thanks Carl. The US spec was all original as is my Euro spec. I probably won't have the K-Mac camber adjusters installed before the track, so the comparison should be valid. So far, tooling around town, the first thing I notice is taht in sweeping turns I find a tendancy towards oversteer in the Euro vs. understeer in the US version. Perhaps the AHK doing its thing, but whether it is or not, "pointablilty" seems better. Though rated same HP, there is no question that this car generates more torque and ponies by the "seat o' the pants dyno". As far as brakes, feel more progressive with less vacuum assist.

Oh Pamilih, I'd love to upload a photo or two, but the website to download the program to do so seems to be down.
Photos to be taken tomorrow at the Boston M5 meet with Terence and crew.

Paul
