8 with McLaren engine?

I remember reading someplace that there was an 8 with the a version of the McLaren F1 engine in it. I think it was a test mule or something. Does anyone know if this is true?

Sort of. Actually the F1 has an improved version of the 850CSi engine. In between there is the M8-prototype.
