Plain wrapper? You bet!

A couple of years ago as I drove into the National BMW Festival event, a well-known 2002 fan and former E28 M5 owner shouted at me,

'Oi! This is the M-Power section! You can't bring a 518i in here!'

Perhaps one day I will invest in a 518 badge.....

Regards

114 - Lachs silver, Black leather 0203, Satin Black Chrome 339. Otherwise standard GB specification car - see other posts in this thread.

I was in contact with a previous owner of this car a couple of years back.

Option code 940

Snippet for fellow anoraks: 940 is 'Special request trim': (GB) cars with option 459 (memory for electric drivers' seat or simply '458 [electric seat operation]+ memory') all show this code. So it wasn't just for special trim colours.

154

Diamond black, pearl beige leather 0206, 339 Satin Black Chrome. Built 87/04.

This was a very popular colour combo back then: 31 cars in Diamond black, 14 of those had Pearl beige leather.

Hope this helps!

Regards

I need to edit an earlier post but cannot - so this will have to do.

Information now to hand shows that the 20 GB cars with special paint came in 4 shades, not 3.

Blue/black metallic: 13 cars
Green/black metallic: 5 cars
Blue/green metallic: 1 car
Glasurit white paint: 1 car (pearlescent finish)

Regards

Looking at the blue/black, it looks like the macao Blue of the M3 e30 and M5 e34.
I'm pretty sure that some of the special m5 e28 colours became afterwards regular colours.
check:
BMW M Registry - Car Detail
and
BMW M Registry - Car Detail
BMW M Registry - Car Detail

I'm actually mailing with David (rhd77), his shade is in my opinion the greener shade of the 2 types of delphin gray metallic, the greener was a shade only for the last e28.
We are checking on...
