There's a manual in or on the box......

Basicaly water and condensation get inside the struthousing between shock and housing. And if that freezes will kill the shock.

It's also described in the BMW repair manuals for our cars as well.

grmbgrrrrmmmrrgggg!!!!

That means I can take the d*mn thin apart AGAIN... Allright, I was already thinking of giving the shock housing a fresh paint, and that's easier when it's taken apart...

Hi all,
I am a regular on the E34 section and was just surfing the board and found this post. I thought you might be interested in what I was doing with my M635.
I imported my M635 from the UK late last year and unfortunately it was not quite the peach I was lead to believe by my friends at Munich Legends (who checked the car out for me). So about 3 months ago I embarked upon a "rebirth" program. The car already has a SSK, Eibach springs, 17 x 8.5 AC schnitzer rims and E34 rear brakes and master cylinder fitted earlier this year.

Hopefully I'll get the car back prior to Xmas with the following changes and upgrades;
- All rust removed this has involved the replacement of both front guards, doors and rear 1/4 panels including the inner wheel arch on the LH rear
- Full respray in the original Arctic Blue
- M Tech skirts and apron
- Shadowline
- Dinan ECU chip, Offset Exhaust cam gear, HD crank hub and a 3.91 LSD from a US spec M6.
- Other cosmetic tidy ups including replacing headlining, fitting a BMW stereo head unit etc....

I've attached some before shots (doesn't look too bad does she?)

Thank god my bodywork isn't in a shape it needs heavy restauration like yours. There is hardly any rust...

In a few days, I can continue working on the interior of my sixer. The last parts are almost finished.

UPDATE!

I've received a lot finished interior parts, and I'm currently mounting everything in the car. In a few days, the wire puzzle should almost be solved

Pictures say more than 1000 words.

Another update... Did some more work on the interior. Most of the wires are connected now. The centre console is finally installed, this was a real nightmare.

I think the toughest part is done now. The next things to be mounted are really straightforward. Except maybe the seatbelts, can't really remember how these were mounted...

In the meantime, I finally installed the 750i brake cylinder (with a little help from a friend, I'm just a computer programmer, you know...).
Added new brake fluid, and now the car is finally driveable.
The car will be taken to the leather shop next weekend, to finish the head liner, the floor mats, and the steering column cover. After that, I can continue installing the rest of the interior.

Here are a few pics from today, from the outside of the car.

edit: by the way, there is no color difference between the door and the rear panel, it is just bad luck with the reflection of the house... Before I really start driving the car, it will be resprayed anyway, in the same color.
