Well Mike, on the outside, I'll only change the wheels, and lower the car a little. The car will be repainted in the same color, and the damaged chrome parts will be replaced with new parts.

The interior will be retrimmed, and all rust I can find on the bottom (e.g. near the accelerator pedal) will be cured. All 'aftermarket wiring' will be removed, and some new clean wiring for audio will be inserted.

Update

I have done quite some work on the E24:

Removed rust on the inside
Cleaned carpet, put carpet back in the car
Installed leather dash
Installed alu pedals
Installed 850i brakes up front, with ceramic brake pads, and grooved, drilled disks
Installed 540i brakes at the rear, with ceramic brake pads, and new EBC disks
Got the new wheels, with full polished centers, and custom center caps.

And I got some pictures of other interior parts that are ready.

Now waiting for some more interior parts to be ready (need the heating switches panel, before I can continue with the rest of the dash).

Ready to be installed: new H&R springs, and Eibach shocks. Just need the right tools for this job, they're on order.

Ready to be installed: 750i brake cylinder

Ready to be installed: alarm (don't have the knowledge for this, a friend will have to do this...)

Your M is outrageously cool, but your wheels are too big. They seem to offsets the aesthetics of the design not to mention the ride (unsprung weight). "A car with higher sprung to unsprung weight ratio will stick better..." -- How to make your car handle by Fred Puhn.

You'd be amazed by the weight of these wheels. Many monoblock narrower wheels are a lot heavier than these...

Well, about the wheels size... I like the look that way. The wide wheels will make the look even more aggressive than the stock look, and that is what I liked about the E24s. At the front side, it looks rather weird, but that's because the car still needs to be lowered a bit. Working on that right now.

Got some great news yesterday. One of my neighbours has a hughe garage (about 12 m by 35 m, or even bigger), and he is willing to sell half of it to me. I'll finally have a nice place to store my cars, to work on my cars, and to store cars I'd like to buy...

I kind of like the pumped out wheel look, it is an obvious note to the hardcore german styling that is common amonst older BMWs. Plus they are AC Schnitzers, and you cant go wrong with that. Thanks for the update, the car is looking great.

Shocks and springs installed

I've been working some more during the weekend. I finally got a decent set of tools, and this does make working on the car a lot more fun.

I installed the new Bilstein shocks and H&R springs. The car is finally back on it's wheels, that was months ago...

Pictures tell more than 1000 words, so here you go:
