M-fun,

Thank you for posting the interesting comments!

The 16-inch BBS wheels (styling 5?) wheels were standard on most GB (ECE/RHD) cars. None of the early GB cars show the 16-inch wheels on the build sheets; The first car certainly had TRX; I suspect the second and third cars may also have had TRX. The fourth car had 16-inch wheels and I am fairly sure this was from new.

Regards

Thank you for the info.

Yes, all cross spoke bbs's where called styling (or style) 5 by bmw.

I think the cars with this in their option list where on the styling 5'es:

Only the description insn't correct but I think that's a mistake by bmw. If you look in all ece lhd option list, you will see that only a few cars where delivered on them.

M-fun,

Over the years I have identified that the descriptions applied to option codes change. Consequently I don't think the 'parallel spoke' is a mistake (the type we have in mind are cross-spokes!), I think it's just that the option description has changed to reflect a more recent style of wheel (E38, E39) and entry of the code number in the BMW system brings up the current description and not the 1980's one.

I see that for a few of the RHD/ECE 'Sonderlack' cars, the paint code is 078....for which the current description is 'Turkis hood'. I take this to mean 'Turquoise hood' with hood being the European description for a soft top, rather than the US usage for bonnet. Presumably an Individual option....but what was the original description? I would guess something like 'Blue/green metallic' - has anyone any better information?

Regards

078=full leather steering wheel.

For the full leather, remember it became an optional on catalogue after some time from production, so what was an individual spec then became a "normal" option.
