Update.

Dirt

Alpina clocks are wired in. Control boxes know live behind the tape storage unit. Sensor wires for diff temp wired into main harness. My homework paid off. Alpina oil canister lid fits with no modifications. Once again wires mated into the engine harness re-taped in BMW fabric tape.

Lower radiator/ chassis brace made.

Another update tomorrow.

Forgot to say that the billet flywheel I bought off D has been fitted & throttle response is epic! The re-built gearbox works perfectly too so all in all progress has been made...even though another deadline has passed.

Making the trip Fritz tomorrow so hopefully things have moved on since these pictures were taken. I will see......................................

In the mean time I have been on the hunt for aux gauges to keep an eye on the vitals. There are lots of different gauges on the market to choose from but I decided to make my life a little more difficult & track down Alpina aux gauges! I like a challenge!!!

Obviously I would have liked to have tracked down a Alpina B7 Turbo gauge cluster but that is impossible so being the resourceful fellow than I am I have gone for the next best thing

With the below cluster I get digital oil pressure in Bar & Psi a well as differential temp!

Ok, now i know why pf the cluster (there were this spring an e28 cluster on ebay.de, for only 240 Euros.. i didn't buy it only because A/C is more important than some infos, as the infos can be read in other places..)

The second link doesn't give me no information on what i asked.

Nearly there.............................

Well just got back from Somerset...............

Had to modify the electric fan fixing points as the fixings on the radiator were starting to come loose!!! The thought of it coming adrift & hitting the bottom pulley had me in sweats!!! Fritz is blaming the fan stating that every time to switches on they think the car is going to move forward! There scared of it

The solution that Dave has come up with is much better than the previous. The fan is now fixed too the body of the car by way of 4mm thick steel bar top & bottom which will help stiffen up the front of the car no end. The bottom bar (Picture above) also acts as a brace for the bottom of the radiator to stop it moving back towards the bottom pulley.

The other plus point is that instead of having to remove the radiator & fan as a complete unit to get to the crank bolt all I will have to do now is remove four bolt to remove the fan for access while leaving the radiator in place. D will be happy because he will be adjusting my shims
The pictures attached are just the mock up..."Hay it works!" ones. It will look much better when finished.

Tried to fit my Alpina softlines on the front to see if they cleared the calipers........No luck....

Offered up the Hartge's & came across a little problem! When Hartge supplied the wheels they also supplied a shim of sorts that fitted inside the spigot hole.....When I bought the wheels I was not supplied with these shims .... What this means is that I am having to have custom aluminium ones made! I did call Birds BMW how are the UK Hartge parts suppliers but they were as much use as a chocolate fire guard!

Measurements have been taken & I have also supplied a wheel hub to the engineering firm. Should hopefully have them at some point next week. Will post pictures when I get them.

What a day! At least the electric seats & Alpina clocks are working! I really cannot wait to give the car a clean.............. Work shops are dirty places....
