If Munich Legends really did recommission it for £7k that is a very good sign that its still in rude health. It would be worth speaking to them, no doubt they would recall it if its been through their workshops.
Previous owner Sheikh Maktoum is interesting history... seems to have the highest possible spec, glass roof etc etc..
I've had my eye out for a few years now and have not personally seen one as potentially good as this before...
There is absolutely no doubting the pedigree of this car or the fact that it was commissioned by Munich Legends , as I was present on the day of the UK E28 RHD M5 21st birthday party celebration , organised by our very own Mfiver , at which time this particular car was collected by it's current owner !
You may find that he is actually a member of this board and I am shocked to see that he has decided to sell such a lovely example !

The car belongs to BayerischeNick. Its is a stunning car in the flesh and he is very particular about his cars and really looks after them. The only reason he is looking to sell is because a collector I know is selling another one that Nick always wanted with lower miles. Nick's car wants for nothing.
This was exactly the car I have been looking for, but unfortunately I've missed out on purchasing it, as Nick tells me it has just been sold to a collector in Australia !!
Great to see another good E28 M5 coming downunder.....I'll just have to keeping searching!
It is with a heavy heart that I have decided to let my lovely E28 M5 go. I just hope I wont regret this decision in the future. I am selling her because I am more of an E24 man and my M635csi is my dream car, and I will never sell it. I was initially prompted to sell it when another BMW that I wanted came up for sale, but after I put a deposit down on the car the seller very dishonestly sold the car to a higher bidder. So I have now decided that the M5 is just too similar to my M635 and I fancy a change.
Yes the car is going to Australia, To be honest, and no disrespect to our friends down under, I really wanted the car to remain in the UK or Ireland, but I had alot of tyre kickers and no serious buyers. I was sure someone in the UK would snap it up, and a chap in England came very close.
The chap that bought the car has a fine stable of some of Munich's finest. Its the same guy that bought Andy Alpina's B7. So car #179 is going to a good home.
Not sure what I am going to replace her with David, perhaps something from Stuttgart.
Thanks to all the contributors on this forum who have always been so helpful during my ownership of #179. I will still lurk on the forum and say hello from time to time.
Regards to all,
Bayerische

I was tempted to give you a shout on it, since the rebuild of my #77 will no doubt end up around the money you were looking for. Oh well, fate has set my path now LOL.
