Intermittent speedo

Hi Everyone

First couple of weeks with the E28 have been a pleasure so far..

I'm using the car almost every day, its been making some heavenly noises in the underpasses of London!!

On the last couple of journeys the speedo has stopped working a few times then come back randomly.

Someone told me that the feed comes from the rear diff? Any ideas on where I should start in putting this right would be much appreciated...

Cheers

There's a yellow plastic plug on top of the diff ......make sure that the connections are all clean .

If not , there may possibly be an instrument cluster / SI Board issue .

I am currently having my SI Board overhauled as the rev counter , temp indicator and fuel guage were erratic .

Thanks David, I'll have a look over the weekend, hopefully its just that connection on the diff, I think the SI board was actually replaced (relatively) recently..

Cheers
