Outside Temperature Sensor - The Unofficial BMW M5 Messageboard (m5board.com)

Hi Folks

Just arrived back after 5 weeks & find the temp on the OBC is reading minus 22

- Its not a sunny day here in Scotland but dont think its That bad

Can anyone tell me where the sensor is located on the vehicle so i can first check connections etc (it was ok when i left) thinking this could be a default reading if no circuit

Any suggestions appreciated as always.

Did you find a way to reset you thermo reading? Mine is about 10 degrees high....and curious if there is an easy way to reset. The external thermostat is located in front of your passenger front tire.

Wallace, never had to do any resets i just replaced my sensor with one off an old 528i that i have sitting at home for body spares.

Bottom line was Temp reading appeared back as per normal & seems to be accurate ( But ? could also have been a connection problem as it is awkward to reach i never tried with the original sensor )

Dont know about USA but UK vehicles connector is clipped on down beside the Rad on LH looking forward & for vehicles with the Tech body kit the sensor is in the brake cooling duct.
