No 160 sold

I recently sold No.160.

Look at www.oldcolonelcars.co.uk. Wrongly shown as No 184.

I believe it has already been sold on.

I don't know whether to offer congratulations or commiserations, Looks like a lovely car. Did old colonel sell it on your behalf?

I hope you don't have sellers remorse. Are you replacing it with another BMW?

Regards,

Bayerische

No he bought it. It is a very nice car. I accepted too low a price I suspect but in view of the lack of responses when I advertised it previously I was glad to accept his offer.

I regret selling it a bit but I have had the experience of owning one which was worthwhile. My main regret is that I did not get to take it round the Nurburgring.

The cash will go to get a Bentley Mk VI back on the road.

I have another E28 , namely a 528 with factory fitted air con which is quite rare, I think.

I would have another M5 but probably with cloth seats as my partner always felt sick in it. That may have been my driving but I think it was largely the smell of the leather which was rather strong and a bit strange. the Bentley has leather seats but of a very different quality and smell.

Thank you for your comments.

Thank you.

I have just noticed the bit about the 5k gearbox rebuild. The previous owner had the box rebuilt. I haven't looked at the receipt for couple of years but though the cost was quite high I think that there was more than a hint of poetic licence in that description!

Apparently the chap who has bought the car traded in an M535 so look out for that in a week or so.

I must admit I would rather like another 535 auto. I had one about 14 years ago. No body kit-quick, easy to drive and so discreet. Oh well.

Looks like a very nice car. I would have liked that myself. Still toying with the idea of getting one sometime.

Go on Andy, you know you want to.
