Hello Jeff,

Welcome to this list. Your car looks great. It is allways good to see an E28 in good condition.

I have a question about your cars shift knob. Is it original? I once ordered a new one for my E28 ///M5 and I got the one you also have, but the shift knob on E28 is of the early style with the M logo.

Hi Raymond,

As far as I know the knob is original. I can't say for sure as I am the second owner. But when I bought the car it was all stock, so I assume the knob is too.

it's always nice to see an unmolested original car, looks superb in Black, is it s 'straight' black or a metalic such as Diamondschwarz?

It's just plain black, nothing fancy.

P.S.
My neighbor drove home last weekend with a brand new M5, so he came over to do a show-and-tell. The black paint on that car is amazing. It's black when viewed straight on, but the metallic reflections are blue. Superb.

Stunning car!!! Your first post and you got a response from Gustav, the webmaster, not bad.

Your neighbors E39 M5 is carbon black, beautiful color as it can appear to be either blue or black depending on the lighting.

Enjoy the car and the messageboard. You should also add it to the M5 registry at: http://registry.bmwe34m5.com as there are only a few E28 M5's listed. Your car can be appreciated, and deserves to be seen, as it appears to be a beautiful/original example. Send Neil some pic's and a description and he will add your car quickly.
