SpeedFreak Detailed: AW 135i Bimmerfest Prep

Here's a white 135i with a bunch of carbon bits that I prepped for BIMMERFEST last year, thought I'd share.

Will had contacted me a month or two prior about doing the prep work on his super nice 135i for BIMMERFEST. He's spent a lot of time tastefully modding the car's appearance with carbon parts, as well as increasing the suspension and engine performance. It obviously needed to look the part for the show, so we decided on an interior/engine/single stage exterior paint correction.

Products used:

  • Meguiar's Quick Interior Detailer
  • Aerospace 303
  • Mother's back to black
  • Stoner Invisible Glass
  • Wolfgang leather care cleaner
  • Wolfgang carpet & upholstery cleaner
  • Meguiar's APC
  • Sonax Full Effect wheel cleaner
  • CG Citrus Wash
  • Iron X
  • Pinnacle speed clay
  • Poorboy's World QD
  • HD Uno on LC CCS orange pad via FLEX3401
  • HD Uno on LC CCS white pad via FLEX3401
  • Pinnacle finishing polish on LC CCS white pad via FLEX3401
  • HD Poxy
  • Optimum metal polish
  • Armor All tire gel

Interior after a good cleaning

Next I moved on to the engine bay, which was in need of some lovin'

Meg's APC soaking

Cleaned, dressed, and ready to go

Wheels getting the usual Sonax treatment

After a good wash, it was time to break out the Iron X. Love this stuff on white cars

Hood shot

Workin' down the passenger side

Who says you can't get depth in white paint??:buttrock

Trunk lid polished out

The carbon spoiler was pretty beat up, but corrected very nicely

Rear bumper cover finished out

Roof finished out

Now, since I don't claim to be a professional photographer, I decided to leave the post detail shots to one. Will had been looking to have his car shot after I finished with it, and was lucky enough to find Justin Capolongo, aka Vdub_lover on E90post. With Justin's permission, I'm reposting a few of his shots. They're obviously not mine, so please be respectful with copying as he has the rights to them.

That being said, lets have a look. I'm so envious of what a great camera can do in the hands of someone who knows what they're doing.

Thanks for looking!
